I can't stay silent on it...
The roadmap for CF9 includes an ORM, and has for a while. I'm sure it's pretty much a given at this point. But still... What A Bad Idea.

By today's standards, this post is blasphemy. It will draw the ire of OO enthusiasts, ColdFusion or otherwise. It will make you spit out your coffee, shake your fist in the air and shout "Kahn!!! KAHNNN!!!!"... only it'll probably be my name instead.
But if you are a small development shop (read: A handful of people or less, right down to the lone programmer), it could save your business. And perhaps even your sanity.
I'm talking about how Object Oriented Programming killed the fun that was ColdFusion programming; how it put a bullethole right in the forehead of my productivity; how it created an unwarranted sense of doubt in every project. Yes, this is about how OO almost destroyed my business... and how you can avoid the same pitfalls.
